No local law nor any amendment thereto shall
be adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Greece until a public
hearing has been held thereon in its final form before such Town Board
not less than five days after public notice has been given of the
time and place of the holding of such public hearing. Such notice
shall be given by the Town Clerk by causing the same to be published
once in a newspaper of general circulation in the Town or in the official
Town newspaper and posted on the Town's website. Such notice shall
contain a title of the proposed local law, every amendment thereto
and a brief explanatory statement thereof.

At least five days before the public hearing
on the proposed local law, the Town Clerk shall make copies of such
proposed local law and every amendment thereto available at the Town
Clerk's office for inspection by any interested person during normal
business hours.

The Town Clerk shall forthwith, upon the adoption
of the local law and every amendment thereto by the Town Board, forward
a copy of the local law to the New York State Secretary of State.
Proof of publication of the notice of public hearing required by §
20-1 shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk.
