Village of Newark Valley, NY Chapter 70 Bulletin Board

§ 70-1 Adoption of regulations.

The Board of Trustees hereby adopts the following regulations governing the use of the Village Community Bulletin Board.

§ 70-2 Applicability; intended use.

The Village Community Bulletin Board is intended for use by community residents and organizations and is not intended for commercial advertising.

§ 70-3 Acceptable items.

The following items will be accepted:

A. Posters for community events.

B. Posters from nonprofit organizations (Cancer Society, etc.).

C. Three-by-five-size notices: items for sale, lost and found, etc.

D. Small business cards (subject to a two-week limit).

E. Legal notices by duly elected boards.

§ 70-4 Items subject to removal.

The following items are subject to immediate removal:

A. All political advertising.

B. Any items stapled to the board.

C. Any items tacked or stapled to the frame of the board.

D. Any commercial advertising other than local business cards.

E. Any items not posted by residents or relevant to community activities.

F. Oversized notices.

G. Items placed on top of existing notices.

§ 70-5 Time limits for posting.

A two-week limit shall be imposed on all bulletin board material.
