Any owner, lessee, tenant, general agent, architect, builder, contractor, subcontractor, engineer, workman, employee or any other person who knowingly commits or takes part or assists in a violation of this chapter or who fails to comply with any of the provisions thereof or who maintains any building or premises in or upon which any violation of this chapter shall exist shall be guilty of a violation and shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III. Each day during or on which a violation of this chapter shall occur shall be deemed to be a separate and distinct offense.

In addition to the remedies herein provided, the Mayor or the Board of Trustees or the Building Inspector, acting in the name of the Village, or any person aggrieved, acting in his own name, shall have the right and power to enforce the provisions thereof by injunction or otherwise, as provided by law.
