The Board of Trustees may from time to time amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal this chapter, including the Zoning Map, by proceeding according to the provisions of the Village Law.
The Board of Trustees, by resolution adopted at a stated meeting, shall fix the time and place of a public hearing on the proposed amendment and shall cause notice to be given by publishing a notice thereof in the official newspaper of the Village. The notice shall state the general nature of the proposed amendment.
Whenever the owners of 50% or more of the area in any district shall present to the Board of Trustees a petition duly signed and acknowledged requesting an amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal of the regulations for such district or the Zoning Map including such district, it shall be the duty of the Board of Trustees to hold a public hearing thereon and cause notice thereof to be given in the manner prescribed above.
If any clause, sentence, subdivision, paragraph, section or part of this chapter shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, subdivision, paragraph, section or part thereof directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.
This chapter shall be effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.
