No person shall, other than in self-defense, or in the discharge of
official duty, or upon a properly constructed shooting gallery or target range
approved by the Board of Trustees of the Village or Port Chester, discharge
any species of firearms, fireworks or other weapon within the limits of the
Village of Port Chester.
This chapter, however, shall not prohibit the discharge of firearms
at theatrical performances, athletic events or special occasions where permission
to do so has been applied for and granted by the Chief of Police; nor the
public display of fireworks by individuals, clubs or organizations on special
occasions where permission for such display has been obtained from the Village
Clerk and a bond filed in an amount fixed by said Village Clerk.
Any person violating the provisions of this chapter or any part thereof
shall be liable for and forfeit a penalty not exceeding $100 for each offense.
And in addition thereto said violation shall constitute disorderly conduct
and the person violating the same shall be a disorderly person.
