[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Massapequa Park 1-7-1991 by L.L. No. 1-1991. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Massapequa Park, pursuant to the authority granted to it under Article 12-A of the General Municipal Law, hereby creates a Planning Commission, the members thereof thereafter to be appointed in accordance with said provisions of Article 12-A of the General Municipal Law.[1]

A. 
Appointments to the Planning Commission shall be made by the Mayor of the Village of Massapequa Park upon written recommendation of the Planning Commission, who shall have interviewed and selected candidates for membership on the Planning Commission. The appointment or appointments shall be made by the Mayor, with a majority consent of the Board of Trustees, at a public meeting of the Village of Massapequa Park.
B. 
The Planning Commission shall have the additional powers and duties as set forth in Article 12-A of the General Municipal Law in addition to all of the other powers and duties in Subsection A above, as specified for a Planning Commission under the applicable provision of the Village Law.
