It shall be unlawful for any person to make,
continue or cause to be made or continued any loud, unnecessary or
unusual noise or any noise which annoys, disturbs or injures or endangers
the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others. The restrictions
enumerated in this chapter are specific enactments to curb and prevent
disturbing and unnecessary noises in violation of this chapter, but
said enumeration shall not be deemed to be exclusive.

A. Operation or use of any pile drivers, steam shovels,
pneumatic hammers, derricks, steam or electric hoists, chain saws,
leaf blowers, lawn blowers, power washers, electrical generators,
outboard blowers or other similar apparatus or to engage in any other
building operation which is attended with loud or unusual noises anywhere
in the Village of Massapequa Park is allowed only during the hours
of 8:00 a.m. through 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. through
7:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

B. The terms and provisions as set forth in Subsection
A above are separate and not applicable to the terms and provisions of the Landscaping Law, §§
196-1 through
196-12 inclusive, of the Massapequa Park Code.
C. This section
shall not apply to the use of domestic power tools when said operation
is limited to work that does not require a building permit.

No person shall maintain or operate or permit
to be maintained or operated any loudspeaker attachment connected
with a radio or television apparatus or talking machine or other primary
source of sound in such manner that the loudspeaker will project sound
outside of any building so that the sound is audible for a distance
of more than 30 feet from the point of its origin.
No person shall operate or cause to be operated
any vehicle for any purpose in the village having sound-amplifying
equipment in operation without first obtaining the written consent
of the Board of Trustees.
No person shall sound or cause to be sounded
any horn or signaling device on any motorcar, motorcycle, motorboat
or other vehicle on any street, waterway or public place of the village
except as a danger signal or traffic warning, nor shall any person
create or cause to be created by the use of such devices any unreasonably
loud, harsh or prolonged sound.
No person shall operate or cause to be operated
any motorcar, motorboat or other mechanism propelled by gasoline,
fuel oil or other combustible substance unless the same is properly
equipped with a muffler, so designed and in such condition as to prevent
unnecessary noise in its operation.
