The sewer regulations of Nassau County shall govern the discharge of all wastes into the public sewer system.[2]

A. 
No explosive or flammable matters shall be discharged into any sewer.
B. 
Cleaning establishments, buildings used for housing or repairing automobiles, gasoline and oil service stations and other buildings or establishments where gasoline, oils, calcium carbide or other explosives or flammable materials are stored, sold or handled, the drains from which are connected to the public sewer, must be provided with an approved intercepting pit or tank so constructed, located and maintained as to prevent the entrance into the sewer of such explosive or flammable matter, subject to the approval of Nassau County.[1]
