All receptacles used as water closets or urinals
or otherwise for the disposal of human exereta shall be vitrified
earthenware or other approved nonabsorptive watertight material.
All plumbing fixtures shall be installed free
and open in a manner to afford access for cleaning. When practical,
all pipes from fixtures shall be run to the wall, and no lead trap
or pipe shall extend nearer to the floor than 12 inches unless protected
by casing.
Water closet bowls and traps shall be made in
one piece and of such form as to hold sufficient quantity of water,
when filled to the trap overflow, to prevent fouling of surfaces,
and shall be provided with integral flushing rinse constructed so
as to flush the entire interior of the bowl.
Earthenware traps or water closets or other
fixtures with connection through the floor shall be set on an approved
slab of tile or marble the full size of the base of the trap except
where the floor compartment has a smooth, even surface and is impervious
to moisture, in which case the floor slab or template will not be
required.
The floor and walls of urinal stalls shall be
lined with nonabsorbent and noncorrosive material.
