A. 
Owner(s) of all principal buildings in the City of Middletown, New York, used or to be used for residential, commercial, industrial or storage purposes, or any combination thereof, shall display at least one set of street numbers.
B. 
Such numbers shall be of such size as to be clearly visible from the street or private roadway, a minimum of four inches in height and mounted in a conspicuous spot near or on the entrance(s) to the building(s) or mounted on a wall or post in the front yard of the premises.

C. 
Buildings having a setback too great for the street numbering to be clearly visible from the street, as defined in Subsection B above, shall display the house numbers on a post and placed so as to be conspicuous and clearly visible from the street.
A. 
Established streets already numbered shall use the numbers in use at the time this chapter is enacted.
B. 
New streets shall be numbered as established at the time the subdivision is approved and under the direction of the Commissioner of Assessment and Taxation and the Commissioner of Public Works or his designated representative.

Failure on the part of the property owner(s) to comply with the provisions of this chapter or the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code within a period of 15 days from the date of issuance of notice of violation shall render the property owner(s), upon conviction, guilty of an offense punishable by a fine of not more than $25; effective June 30, 2009, the maximum fine shall be $100. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
