This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, as amended from time to time, and shall be known as the "Games of Chance Law of the Town of Wheatfield."
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meanings as such words and terms are used in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law unless otherwise provided herein or the context requires a different meaning. In addition, the following definitions shall apply to this chapter:
OFFICER
The chief law enforcement officer of Niagara County.
TOWN
The Town of Wheatfield.
Games of chance may be conducted in the Town on any day of the week, except Sunday between 3:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, by an authorized organization after obtaining a license therefor, in accordance with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
This chapter shall take effect upon filing with the Secretary of State after approval thereof by a majority of the voters of the Town voting thereon at a special election and after publishing and posting as required by law.
