[Added 1-10-2011 by L.L. No. 1-2011]
Parking meter space on the streets and parts of streets designated in Schedule XXIII (§
123-72) hereof shall be placed so as to indicate the boundary within which a vehicle shall be placed when parked in a parking meter space.
It shall be unlawful and a violation of the
provisions of this article to deposit or cause to be deposited in
any parking meter any slug, token, device or metallic substitute for
a coin of the United States.
It shall be unlawful and a violation of the
provisions of this article for any person to deface, injure, tamper
with, open or willfully break, destroy or impair the usefulness of
any parking meter installed under the provisions of this article.
Nothing in this article shall be construed as
prohibiting the Board of Trustees from providing for free parking
space for bus stops and for taxicab stands, provided that proper designating
signs are erected and maintained in such spaces, and there shall be
no parking in such spaces except by the vehicles so designated.
Commercial trucks may park in the parking meter
spaces to load or unload merchandise without depositing coins for
such period required for such loading or unloading. Should any such
truck be so parked for a period longer than that required for loading
or unloading merchandise, it shall be deemed a violation of this article.
