It shall be unlawful for any person, persons or corporation to keep, maintain or operate any public poolroom, billiard parlor, bowling alley or theater within the limits of the Borough of Palmyra without first having obtained a license or permit from the Borough Clerk of the Borough of Palmyra so to do, as provided hereunder.
The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized to issue a license to keep, maintain and operate a poolroom, billiard parlor, bowling alley or theater, after approval thereof shall have been given, in writing, by the Chairman of the Police Committee or other Borough official in charge of the Police Department of the Borough of Palmyra, upon the payment of $2 for each and every table in such poolroom or billiard parlor or for each alley in such bowling alley or upon the payment of the sum of $5 for each theater.
Every such license shall be for the calendar year and shall expire on December 31 of the year for which same is issued, unless sooner revoked, and shall not be transferable.
Every such poolroom or billiard parlor, bowling alley and theater shall be subject to the ordinances of the Borough of Palmyra and all proper police regulations at all times and subject to inspection by the Police Department of the Borough of Palmyra, and violation of any of the Borough ordinances or proper police regulations, in addition to the penalty therein provided, is sufficient cause for the immediate revocation by the Police Department of said Borough of the license granted by said Borough of Palmyra for such poolroom, billiard parlor, bowling alley or theater.
