It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, club, association, corporation or other organization to install, operate, maintain or use in any public or quasi-public place or in any building, store or any other place wherein the public is invited or may enter, within the Borough of Palmyra, any bagatelle device or pinball machine or any mechanical coin- or slug-operated machine for amusement purposes or for production of music, including victrolas, orchestrelles, player pianos, music vending machines and instruments, whether electrically operated or not, without a license first had and obtained for each such machine as hereinafter provided.

The license fee for each machine shall be $150 for each calendar year or fraction thereof. Said license fee, as hereinbefore provided, is imposed for revenue purposes.

Every applicant for a license shall fill out a form of application to be furnished by the Borough Clerk, who shall issue the license as herein provided upon payment of the appropriate license fee and upon compliance with all of the conditions for approval of such license, as set forth in this article and Chapter 158 of the Code of the Borough of Palmyra, as amended and supplemented, and any and all conditions made by the Planning Board of the Borough of Palmyra upon review of any application for said license.
Each such license shall be prominently displayed at all times in the premises where the machine is located.
Each such machine shall be licensed for amusement or musical purposes only, and no such machine or other mechanical device of any kind or nature shall be used in connection with gaming, lottery, the awarding of prizes, whether cash, merchandise or tokens, or any other unlawful activity, and the Mayor and Council may, in its discretion, summarily, forthwith revoke any such license or permit for violation of any of the provisions of this article or for violation of such rules and conditions as the Mayor and Council may make from time to time in connection with the issuance of such license or permit for maintaining, operating or using such machine or device so licensed.

Any person or persons, club, association, corporation or other organization violating any of the provisions of this article or any other ordinance of the Borough of Palmyra applicable to said license shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or imprisonment in the county jail in the County of Burlington for not more than 90 days, at the discretion of the court before which said conviction shall be had.
