The objectives of the Citizens Advisory Board for the Enforcement of the Property Maintenance Code are:
A.
To assure accountability, fairness and balance in the administration of Pemberton Township's Property Maintenance Code.
B.
To identify areas of blight within the Township and develop a plan to remedy these conditions.
C.
To improve the housing stock and quality of life within Pemberton Township.
D.
To provide public support for the prudent actions taken by Code Enforcement Officers.
E.
To help the administration develop a fair and balanced Township-wide management plan for the enforcement of the Property Maintenance Code; to monitor the management plan for its established goals and effectiveness.
F.
To provide information to residents on available grants and programs that improve their properties and help increase their property values.
G.
To monitor the progress or property maintenance goals set by the administration.
H.
To provide advice to residents who have received violation notices and make recommendations to the administration on timelines for completion of the compliance remedy.
I.
To make recommendations to the Council on the effectiveness and need for new code enforcement laws.
J.
To monitor the state of repair of abandoned homes within the Township and the progress the administration is making on alleviating such conditions.
K.
To help the administration maintain a registry of abandoned homes within the Township as well as a history and plan of action for alleviating such conditions.
L.
To monitor the registry of abandoned homes and the formulation of proposals and recommendations based upon the review of that registry.
M.
Selecting two of its members to attend Municipal Court on a regular basis to provide advice to the violators of the Property Maintenance Code as to the rights and obligations and possible solutions as well as to monitor the actions of the Court for review and report to the Board.
