[Adopted 3-5-1975 as Section 2:2 of Ch. II of the General Ordinances]
At the election held on November 3, 1959, there was submitted to the voters of the Township of Pemberton, County of Burlington and State of New Jersey, the question of whether or not the said jurisdiction should adopt the provisions of the Civil Service Act of the State of New Jersey, and said adoption was duly approved and authorized by a majority of the voters of said jurisdiction at said election.

All regulations that are promulgated by the State of New Jersey and/or the Civil Service Commission, including but not limited to Title 4A of the New Jersey Administrative Code, with which compliance is mandatory and not permissive as to municipal governments that have adopted the provisions of the Civil Service Act of the State of New Jersey,[1] said regulations, as may be amended hereafter, are adopted hereby.

Employees whose titles are not covered in collective negotiations agreements, including but not limited to unclassified employees, shall receive authorized personal, sick, vacation, and bereavement leave in the same manner and under the minimum terms based on service time as set forth in the current CWA collective bargaining agreement, as may be modified in the future. This provision shall not preclude the negotiation of additional terms with any particular unaffiliated and/or unclassified employee by the appointing authority.

Employees whose titles are not covered in collective negotiations agreements, including, but not limited to, unclassified employees, shall receive longevity pay in the same manner and under the minimum terms based on service time with the Township of Pemberton as set forth in the current CWA collective bargaining agreement, and as may be modified in the future. This provision shall not preclude the negotiation of additional terms with any particular unaffiliated and/or unclassified employee by the appointing authority. Current employees of the Pemberton Township Municipal Utilities Authority, who accept employment with the Township upon dissolution of the PTMUA, shall receive credit under the Township’s longevity pay provisions in the most current Salary and Wage Ordinance or under an applicable collective negotiations agreement for years of service rendered to the PTMUA, provided they do not have a break in service between employers.

Employees whose titles are not covered in collective negotiations agreements, including but not limited to unclassified employees, shall be entitled to the same paid holidays provided to Township employees covered by collective negotiations agreements.
