Except for the pickup and delivery of materials
from and to properties abutting such streets or parts of streets,
trucks registered for gross weight of 40,000 pounds or more are hereby
excluded from the following streets or parts of streets within the
Township:

Nothing in this article shall be construed to
exclude trucks used by public utility companies in connection with
the construction, installation, operation or maintenance of public
utility facilities located on said roads or on properties abutting
said roads or trucks used to repair or maintain said roads.
Those streets or parts of streets from which
said trucks shall be excluded shall be conspicuously marked by signs
so placed and maintained as to clearly show such exclusion by both
day and night and shall designate the registered weight of the trucks
which are excluded from such streets or parts of streets.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided
for by state statute, any person or persons who shall violate any
section of this article shall be liable, upon conviction thereof,
to a fine of not more than $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term of
not more than 90 days, or both, for each such offense.
This article shall become effective upon the
approval by the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation
and upon final passage and publication in the manner prescribed by
law.
All former traffic ordinances of the Township
of Pilesgrove in conflict with or inconsistent with the provisions
of this chapter are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall
not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person
for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby
repealed prior to taking effect of this article.
