This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Land Subdivision
and Site Plan Regulation Ordinance of the Borough of Rutherford."
The purpose of this chapter shall be to provide rules, regulations and standards to guide municipal agencies in acting upon site plan and subdivision development applications in the Borough of Rutherford in order to promote the public health, safety, convenience and general welfare of the municipality and to ensure the orderly growth and development, conservation, protection and proper use of the land and adequate provision for circulation, utilities and services. Standards shall be applied in accordance with the procedures and regulations contained in the borough's Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 131, and the Land Use Procedures Ordinance, Chapter 51, of the Code of the Borough of Rutherford.
Whenever a term is used in this chapter which is defined in P.L. 1975,
c. 291,[1] such term is intended to have the meaning set forth in the definition of such term found in said statute or as more particularly defined in the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 131 of the Code, unless a contrary intention is clearly expressed from the context of this chapter.

Procedural requirements for submission and approval of site plan applications, subdivision applications and required improvements shall be in accordance with Chapter 51, Land Use Procedures, of the Code.
