Pursuant to the Municipal Utilities Authorities
Law, constituting Chapter 183 of the Laws of New Jersey of 1957 (Chapter
14B of Title 40 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey), there is hereby
created and established a public body corporate and politic, as an
agency and instrumentality of the Township of Washington, under the
corporate name and title of the "Washington Township Municipal Utilities
Authority." The Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority
shall, within the territorial boundaries of the Township of Washington,
in the County of Morris, have and may exercise all of the powers provided
for in the Municipal Utilities Authorities Law, together with any
other powers which may hereafter be conferred upon Municipal Utilities
Authorities by law.

The Washington Township Municipal Utilities
Authority shall be comprised of five regular members and up to two
alternate members appointed by the governing body.
A. Regular members. The regular members first appointed
to the Authority shall be designated to serve for terms respectively
expiring on the last day of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth
January next ensuing after the date of their appointments. Thereafter,
all members of the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority
shall be appointed for a term of five years, commencing on February
1 of the year of appointment.
B. Alternate members. The governing body may appoint
not more than two alternate members to the Washington Township Municipal
Utilities Authority. Alternate members shall be designated by the
governing body as "Alternate 1" and "Alternate 2" and shall serve
during the absence or disqualification of any regular member or members.
The term of each alternate member shall be five years commencing on
February 1 of the year of appointment; provided, however, that in
the event that two alternate members are appointed, their initial
terms shall be four and five years, respectively. Alternate members
may participate in discussions of the proceedings but may not vote
except in the absence or disqualification of a regular member.

A. Prosecution. Any violation of the rules and regulations
of the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority shall be
prosecuted in Municipal Court in accordance with the penalty provisions
contained in said rules and regulations.
B. Fines. Any fines imposed upon conviction of violation
of the rules and regulations of the Washington Township Municipal
Utilities Authority shall be paid over to and collected by the Township
Treasurer.
