[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Wyckoff 3-18-1952 as Ord. No. 240. Section 124-3 amended at time of adoption of Code, see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I. Other amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall go upon the lands belonging to another person or persons, firm or corporation for the purposes of hunting or to hunt upon any such land or lands located within the territorial limits of the Township of Wyckoff, in the County of Bergen and State of New Jersey, except that this prohibition shall not apply to the owner or other occupant of such lands or to any other person that may have in his possession the written permission of the owner or occupant thereof to hunt thereon. Such permit shall not extend beyond the calendar year in which same is issued.
No person at any time within the territorial limits of the Township of Wyckoff shall fire or discharge or cause to be fired or discharged any pistol, shotgun, rifle or other firearms within 300 feet of any dwelling house, public street or highway; provided, however, that nothing in this section shall prohibit the use of firearms for the protection of life, person or property, and provided further that the provisions hereof shall not apply to any pistol or rifle range equipped with proper safeguards for the protection of life and property and operated by any club affiliated with the National Rifle Association.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.
