The Mayor, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized to grant licenses
for dance halls as herein set forth upon application made to the Borough Secretary
for the same without the payment of any license fee.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
DANCE HALL
Any public hall, pavilion or assembly room, or auditorium, which
is used for dancing, or other place which may on occasion be used for dancing
purposes.
The Mayor, or his/her designee, in his/her discretion, may require the
presence of police and fire officials at any dance or dances, for which services
of said police and fire officials the regular daily salary or hourly rate
of wages shall be paid by the promoters of the dance or owner or lessee of
the dance hall.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine not exceeding
$600, plus costs of prosecution, to be recovered by summary proceedings before
a District Justice, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, by
imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
