The Board of Supervisors of the Township of Palmer, Northampton County,
Pennsylvania, being the governing body of the said municipality, hereby signifies
its intention and desire to join with the Township of Bethlehem, the City
of Easton, the Township of Forks, the Borough of Glendon, the Township of
Lower Mt. Bethel, the Township of Lower Nazareth, the Borough of Nazareth,
the Township of Palmer, the Township of Plainfield, the Borough of Stockertown,
the Borough of Tatamy, the Township of Upper Nazareth, the Borough of West
Easton, the Township of Williams, the Borough of Wilson and the Borough of
Wind Cap, all of the County of Northampton, State of Pennsylvania, or any
of them, or any other municipalities of the said Northampton County, to organize
a Joint Sewer Board under the provisions of the Township Code for Second Class
Townships, Act 1947, July 10, P.L. (1481), Section 38, as amended, for the
purpose of securing preliminary surveys and estimates and acting generally
as an advisory and administrative agency in constructing, improving, maintaining
and operating sewers and sewer systems, including trunk line sewers or drains
and sewage treatment works.
One representative of this municipality shall be appointed on the said
Joint Sewer Board by resolution of the Board of Supervisors, and any vacancy
in such position may be filled by the Board of Supervisors by resolution from
time to time.
The Joints Sewer Board is authorized to appoint an engineer, a solicitor
and such other assistants as are deemed necessary, and the Board of Supervisors
may agree to the share of the compensation and costs the township shall pay
to such persons or Board, by resolution.
The Board of Supervisors of the Township of Palmer is hereby directed
to do all such other things necessary or appropriate to effect the participation
by the township in a Joint Sewer Board.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances, insofar as they are inconsistent
herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
