The purpose of this provision is to enact a plan and system for the
numbering of houses and buildings to facilitate the recommendations of the
county's 911 implementation team. The standards are designed to facilitate
emergency response.
On and after the passage and approval of this Article
III, it shall be the duty of each and every owner, trustee, agent and occupant of each and every building, including but not limited to residential, commercial and industrial buildings, to be numbered in accordance with this Article
III and the system and plan as hereby adopted and approved.
The Township Engineer, in conjunction with the township's Police
Chief, is hereby authorized to periodically review the street numbering system
to determine its compliance with the 911 mandates. In the event that these
officials determine that a geographical area is not in name compliance, or
determine that any changes should be made to the system, they are authorized
to prepare a report presenting these findings to the Board of Commissioners.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Article
III shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed the sum of $600 or imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served, in accordance with the terms and provisions hereof, shall be deemed a separate offense.
