It is the purpose of this chapter to cite the responsibilities of the South Fayette Township Planning Commission in the administration of Chapter
240, Zoning.
The Planning Commission, consisting of five members, shall be appointed
by Township Commissioners in the manner prescribed by the Pennsylvania Municipalities
Planning Code.
The Planning Commission shall adopt rules in accordance with the provisions of Chapter
240, Zoning.
The Planning Commission shall meet monthly at a regularly prescribed
date and meeting place and others as the Chairman may deem necessary. All
meetings of the Planning Commission shall be open to the public. The Secretary
of the Planning Commission shall keep minutes of all meetings.
The Planning Commission may, with the approval of the Township Commissioners,
undertake special studies relating to the Comprehensive Plan and its implementation which it deems necessary. Public meetings
may be undertaken for this purpose. Material may be gathered and printed.
The Planning Commission may, with the approval of the Township Commissioners,
retain outside consulting assistance as it deems necessary. All appropriations
of the township funds shall be approved by the Commissioners of the Township
of South Fayette.
The Planning Commission shall keep full record of its business and shall
annually make a written report by March 1 of each year of its activities to
the Township Commissioners. Interim reports may be made as often as necessary
or at the request of the Township Commissioners.
