[Adopted 12-10-1979 by Ord. No. 319]
It is hereby ordained that each Township Commissioner of the Township
of South Fayette taking office on or after January 1, 1980, be paid a salary
of $1,500 per year, payable monthly, for the performance by said Commissioners
of the duties and obligations as a Township Commissioner imposed by the First
Class Township Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
As referred to in the recitals to this article, the population of the Township of South Fayette, by reference
to data and statistics available to the Board of Commissioners thereof, is
deemed to be in excess of 10,000 persons.
It is ordained and enacted, in the alternative, that should the population of the Township of South Fayette, by appropriate data and investigation, be determined to be less than 10,000 persons, then it is ordained and enacted that the salary of the Township Commissioners of the Township of South Fayette taking office on or after January 1, 1980, be set at $1,200 per year, payable monthly for their performance of duties as a Township Commissioner. This section is to be applied only in the alternative and under circumstances which indicate that the population of the Township of South Fayette is not sufficient to warrant the salary of $1,500 per year as referred to in §
74-1 above.
