The regular meetings of the Board of Commissioners
of Swatara Township shall be held on the first and second Wednesday
of every month (unless a said Wednesday falls on a holiday in which
case the meeting shall be held on the next succeeding business day),
at 7:00 p.m., prevailing time, at the Township Building, 599 Eisenhower
Boulevard, Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; both meetings
shall be meetings at which any and all business, consideration, action
or activity may occur. The Board of Commissioners may hold such meetings,
from time to time, for the consideration of special, or any other
business, or matters as may from time to time be called by the President
or a majority of the members of the Board.

For the purpose of this chapter, neither Saturday
nor Sunday shall be considered a business day.

The salaries of each member of the Board of
Commissioners of Swatara Township shall be the maximum amount provided
for by law.

The Township shall make contracts with any insurance
company, or nonprofit hospitalization corporation, or nonprofit medical
service corporation authorized to transact business within the commonwealth
insuring the Commissioners, or their dependents, under a policy or
policies of group insurance covering life, health, hospitalization,
medical and surgery service or accident insurance and, for such purposes,
may agree to pay part or all of the premiums or charges for carrying
such contracts, premiums or charges, or portions thereof, as the Commissioners
shall by resolution, from time to time, determine and direct. The
Commissioners are hereby authorized, enabled and permitted to deduct
from the Commissioners pay, salary or compensation such part of the
premium or charge, as is payable by the Commissioners and, as may
be so authorized by the Commissioner in writing and as determined
by resolution of the Board of Commissioners. Such insurance shall
be uniformly applicable to those covered and shall not give eligibility
preference to, or improperly discriminate in favor of, Commissioners,
in relation to other employees.
