The Township Roadmaster is hereby designated
as the Township Parking Enforcement Officer and shall be responsible
for the enforcement of the Township parking ordinances and regulations.
The Roadmaster shall have the powers of a police officer limited to
those necessary and proper for the enforcement of parking laws. It
shall be the duty of the Roadmaster to check the no-parking areas
in the Township for violations and to generally enforce the parking
ordinances and regulations of Washington Township.
The Township shall have parking tickets prepared
to be issued by the Township Roadmaster to violators of the Township
parking ordinances. The parking tickets shall include, but not by
way of limitation, the location where the offending vehicle was parked,
the make and model of the vehicle, the license plate number of the
vehicle, the date and time of the violation and a notice that the
owner or driver of the vehicle may pay the sum of $5 to the Township
Secretary within 48 hours after the time of the issuance of the parking
ticket or $7 within 72 hours after the time of the issuance of the
parking ticket; otherwise, the violator may be prosecuted and, upon
conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $15 or more
than $25, together with costs of prosecution.
