Action is hereby taken pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 138 of the Laws of 1946 of New Jersey, the acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto (the Sewerage Authorities Law, Title 40, Chapter 14A of the Revised Statutes), by the Borough Council of the Borough of Wanaque, in the County of Passaic, a Municipal Corporation of the State of New Jersey, located in the County of Passaic and State of New Jersey, in concert and together with the municipalities of West Milford and Ringwood, which said municipalities do hereby establish and create a public body, corporate and politic, under the name and style of the Wanaque Valley Regional Sewerage Authority.
The said Authority shall constitute a Sewerage Authority as contemplated and provided for in the said Act, and said Authority shall be an agency and instrumentality of the aforementioned municipalities which shall have the powers of the Authority as given to such sewerage authorities by said Act, the acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto.
The said Authority shall consist of six members. These members shall be appointed by resolution of each of the several governing bodies as provided for by law. Each of the several governing bodies combining in the Regional Authority shall have the power to appoint two of the members of the Regional Authority.
The said Authority is hereby granted all of the powers provided by the said law pursuant to which it is hereby established.
The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file in the office of the Secretary of State a copy of this ordinance duly certified by said Clerk.
There is hereby ratified and confirmed an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Establishing and Creating a Public Body, Corporate and Politic, to be known as the Wanaque Valley Regional Sewerage Authority," adopted December 9, 1970.
This ordinance will take effect at the time and in the manner prescribed by law.
