There is hereby established a local Board of
Health, which shall be known as the "North Haledon Board of Health."
A. The Board shall be composed of seven members and two
alternate members designated as "Alternate No. 1" and "Alternate No.
2," who shall only be permitted to vote in the case of the absence
or disqualification of a regular member. Where a vote of the Board
is required and a question arises as to which alternate may vote,
Alternate No. 1 shall vote first.

B. The members of the Board of Health shall be appointed
by the Council.
C. The terms of the members of the Board of Health shall
be four years. However, the members first appointed shall be so arranged
that the terms of not more than three members shall expire in any
one year. Each alternate member shall be appointed to a term of two
years, except that the terms of the alternate members first appointed
shall be two years for Alternate No. 1 and one year for Alternate
No. 2.

The local Board shall have those powers provided
by law.
