Borough of Yeadon, PA Article IX Snow and Ice Emergencies

§ 285-80 Declaration and publication of emergency.

In order to facilitate the movement of traffic and to combat the hazards of snow and ice on the snow emergency routes named in § 285-82, the Mayor, the President of Council, the Council Person in charge of highways or the Borough Manager, at his or her discretion, may declare a snow and ice emergency (hereinafter referred to as a "snow emergency"). Information on the existence of a snow emergency shall be given by the Borough through radio, newspaper or other available media, and information on the termination of the emergency shall be given by use of the same media.

§ 285-81 Parking prohibited and driving restricted on routes during emergency.

After a snow emergency is declared, no person shall, at any time during the continuance of the emergency:

A. Park a motor vehicle or allow that vehicle to remain parked anywhere on any snow emergency route designated in § 285-83; or

B. Drive any motor vehicle on any snow emergency route designated in § 285-82, unless that vehicle is equipped with snow tires or chains.

§ 285-82 Snow emergency routes designated.

The following streets are hereby designated as snow emergency routes:

§ 285-83 Parking restrictions.

Parking or standing of motor vehicles is prohibited during a snow emergency on the following snow emergency routes to the extent indicated:

§ 285-84 Violations and penalties.

A. Whoever violates § 285-81A shall be fined not more than $15 and costs.

B. Whoever violates § 285-81B shall be fined $25 and costs.
