The National Electrical Code, 1987, or such
newer edition of the said Code then in existence, recommended by the
National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted as the Electrical
Code of the Borough of Lewisburg and hereafter designated as such,
for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the installation
of electrical equipment, electrical appliances, and the installation
of electrical wiring and other similar and related work within the
Borough.
Each and all of the regulations, provisions,
conditions, and terms of the said National Electrical Code, 1987,
or such newer edition of the said Code then in existence, recommended
by the National Fire Protection Association, as established in a standard
form, are hereby incorporated herein by reference and made a part
hereof as if fully set out in this article.
Any person violating any of the regulations,
provisions, conditions, or terms of the said National Electrical Code,
1987, or such newer edition of the said Code then in existence, or
failing to comply therewith or with any of the requirements thereof,
or of the premises where anything in violation of the said Code shall
be placed or shall exist, and any architect, engineer, builder, contractor,
electrician, agent, person, or corporation employed in connection
therewith and assisting in the commission of such violation or violations
shall be guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction thereof
in a summary proceeding before a District Justice, be sentenced to
pay a fine of not more than $1,000, plus costs of prosecution, and/or
be imprisoned for a period not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a
violation of this article continues shall constitute a separate offense.
Three copies of the said National Electrical
Code, 1987, or such newer edition of the said Code then in existence,
are on file in the offices of the Borough Secretary and/or the Building
Official of the Borough of Lewisburg, and are available for public
inspection in the said offices.
