[Adopted 2-5-2003 by Ord. No. 2003-01]
Effective October 1, 2001, only full- or part-time employees with normal work hours of 32 hours per week or more will qualify to receive County benefits. This policy is consistent with local, state and national employment practice. However, since the County of York currently employs a limited number of individuals who are working less than the required 32 hours per week and have been receiving benefits, the Board recognizes that termination of these benefits would be inappropriate and constitute an unfair hardship. These employees, although part-time, are recognized as valued contributors to the programs and services provided to the general public. Accordingly, the Board will "grandfather" these individuals and they will continue to receive benefits until their retirement or termination.
