It shall be unlawful to place materials or objects other than legally operable vehicles on the paved portion of any street for the purpose of storing such materials or object, temporarily or permanently. Such materials or objects shall include, but not be limited to, soil, stones, garbage containers of any size, including dumpsters, mulch or branches. The placement of leaves shall be permitted in the paved portion of the street with the stipulation that such leaves are placed in an area outside the traveled cartway portion of the street and are placed for pickup by the Derry Township leaf collection program.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this article, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before a district justice in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this article continues shall constitute a separate offense.
