Denotes a native tree species. Native plants and trees are those
that were growing in Pennsylvania prior to European settlement. These
plants have adapted to local soils, pests, and other environmental
conditions. Our native wildlife has adapted alongside these native
plants and uses them as food and sources of cover. Planting a native
street tree can help support proper ecological balance in our urban
landscape.
