A Drug Abuse Prevention Council is created for the purposes and to accomplish the ends as are set forth in Article 12-E of the General Municipal Law.[1]

Editor's Note: The resolution adopted February 6, 1969, provided for a Narcotic Guidance Council, but Chapter 199 of the Laws of 1977 amended § 239-u of the General Municipal Law to provide for a Drug Abuse Prevention Council and to further provide that councils previously created should assume the designation of "Drug Abuse Prevention Council."
Such Council shall consist of not less than three nor more than five members, who shall be appointed by the Town Board for a term not exceeding three years and shall include at least one clergyman, one attorney and one physician, who shall serve without compensation.
The expenses of the Council, if any, shall be equally shared by the Town of Wawarsing and the Village of Ellenville.
