As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
SKATEBOARD
A narrow board of wood, plastic, fiberglass or similar material with
roller-skate or other type wheels attached thereto, used for rolling, gliding
or moving on any hard surface.
VILLAGE
The Village of Fort Plain, New York.
VILLAGE STREETS
Any and all streets, highways and roadways, whether belonging to
the Village or the State of New York, that are located anywhere within the
Village which are used for vehicle traffic, including any streets, highways
or roadways located within any municipal parks located within the Village.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use, operate or ride a skateboard
on any Village streets, sidewalks or parks within the Village at any time
or on any private property within the Village without having first obtained
the permission of the landowner.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
BUSINESS AREA
The streets, sidewalks, parks, parking areas including and adjacent
to Willett Street from Main Street to Webster Street, Canal Street from Main
Street to Prospect Street, Main Street from Willett Street to South Street,
River Street, Legion Street, Plaza Street, Division Street from Canal Street
to Center Street, Mohawk Street from Canal Street to Center Street and Center
Street from Mohawk Street to Main Street.
IN-LINE SKATE
A roller skate whose wheels are arranged in a straight line.
ROLLER SKATE
A shoe or boot with wheels or casters attached to its sole for skating
on hard surfaces.
VILLAGE
The Village of Fort Plain, New York.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use in-line skates or roller
skates in the business area of the Village at any time.
