This chapter shall be known and cited as the
"Town of Greenwich Zoning Law."
Enactment of this chapter by the Town of Greenwich
is pursuant to Article 16 of the Town Law of the State of New York
and Article 27 of the Executive Law of the State of New York.
This chapter is adopted pursuant to the laws
of the State of New York in order to protect and promote the health,
safety and welfare of the residents of the community; to provide for
a variety of housing opportunities; to protect the property values
and aesthetics of the community; and to ensure the optimum overall
conservation, protection, development and use of the unique scenic,
aesthetic, wildlife, recreational, agriculture, open space, historic,
ecological and natural resources of the Town. The regulations, administrative
procedures, enforcement mechanisms and penalties have been prescribed
to implement the policies of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the
Town of Greenwich.
