The Planning Board, by majority vote, shall have the authority to accept,
on behalf of the Town, an easement interest in land from the owner or owners
of land that is the subject of definitive subdivision approval for the sole
purpose of permitting the Town (by and through the Planning Board and/or its
consultants or contractors) to enter on said land, in the event of a default,
in order to perform the improvements shown on the approved subdivision plan
that are secured by surety instruments that have been provided to the Town
under MGL c. 41, § 81U, Paragraph 7.
