This chapter was adopted in order to:
A.
Provide for the protection of persons and property in the Village of Pomona in the event of a natural or man-made emergency or disaster, in accordance with applicable sections of the New York State Executive Law, Article 2B.
B.
Establish procedures to alert the public and provide information and appropriate protective action and instructions, if necessary, and to provide for coordination and use of available municipal resources during an emergency.
C.
Define the role and responsibilities of Village officials and to define emergency functions and make assignments to municipal and volunteer staff.
D.
Ensure coordination and cooperation with the efforts of the County of Rockland in accordance with the Rockland County Emergency Operations Plan, Section 2.
