From and after January 1, 1993, there shall be in the Town of Steuben but one Assessor, to be appointed by the Town Board as provided in § 310 of the Real Property Tax Law.

This article shall take effect immediately upon filing in the Office of the Secretary of State and shall not be subject either to a mandatory or permissive referendum.

From and after the effective date of this article and as provided in Real Property Tax Law § 512, the date for the meeting of the Board of Assessment Review in the Town of Steuben shall be the first Wednesday in June.
