The City Clerk/Administrator is directed to advertise two times in a
newspaper of general circulation within the city for interested suppliers
of petroleum products, including gasoline and/or diesel fuel as is generally
required for use in the various city vehicles, to submit monthly bids by the
first day of each month for the sale of said petroleum products to the city.
Said advertisement is to be on different days and shall concurrently be posted
at the Municipal Building.
The City Clerk/Administrator is directed to make such purchases of fuel
as is generally required for use in the various city vehicles from the lowest
bidder as determined on an aggregate basis for the entire monthly purchase.
Said purchase is to be made by note or memorandum in writing signed by the
City Clerk/Administrator.
Upon completion of the purchase as directed, the City Clerk/Administrator
shall publicly announce the purchase at the next regularly scheduled meeting
for the purpose of ratification by City Council.
The City Clerk/Administrator is authorized pursuant to this chapter
to make no purchase in excess of $5,000 and/or an amount to exceed one month's
anticipated usage by the various city vehicles.
