Oneida Street shall be the zero street for the numbers of all streets
running east and west in the City of Monessen.
The numbers from Oneida Street to First Street shall be 1 to 99, odd
numbers on the north side of the street, and even numbers on the south side
of the street.
From First Street to Second Street, the numbers shall run from 100 to
199; from Second Street to Third Street from 200 to 299, and so on for every
block, 99 numbers for each block to the west boundary line of the City of
Monessen.
From Oneida Street to Seneca Street the numbers shall run from 1 to
99, but designated, however, as "East"; from Seneca Street to Mohawk Street
from 100 to 199 East; from Mohawk Street to Manown Street, 200 to 299 East;
odd numbers and even numbers as hereinbefore mentioned.
On all streets running east and west, every 22 feet to 40 feet shall
have two numbers. All lots over 40 feet shall have as many numbers as the
ratio that two numbers bear to 40 feet.
For streets running north and south, the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad
right-of-way shall be the zero line.
From said Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad right-of-way to Donner Avenue,
the numbers shall run from 1 to 99; from Donner Avenue to Schoonmaker Avenue,
the numbers shall run from 100 to 199; from Schoonmaker Avenue to McKee Avenue,
the numbers shall run from 200 to 299 and so on, with 99 numbers allotted
for each block and one number for every 20 feet, to the southern city line,
odd numbers on the west, even numbers on the east.
On any street or portion thereof for which, in the judgment of the City
Engineer, the numbering system set forth hereinabove shall be impracticable
or unsuitable, the City Engineer shall assign numbers to the buildings and
lots thereon, and such numbers so assigned shall be deemed the official numbers
for such buildings and lots.
