No candidate for office, appointment, or employment
and no officer, appointee or employee of the Township shall, directly
or indirectly, give or promise any person any office, position, employment,
benefit or anything of value for the purpose of influencing or obtaining
the political support, aid or vote of any person, under the penalty
of being disqualified to hold the office or employment to which he
may be or may have been elected or appointed.
If any provision of this Charter is held invalid,
the other provisions of the Charter shall not be affected thereby.
If the application of this Charter or any of its provisions to any
person or circumstances is held invalid, the application of the Charter
and its provisions to other persons or circumstances shall not be
affected thereby.
At all places in this Charter words used in
a masculine gender shall include the feminine.
The Council shall provide in the Administrative
Code for the bonding of all officers and employees who are responsible
for the handling and/or authorization of receipts, disbursements,
goods and supplies. The premiums for such bonds shall be paid by the
Township.
This Charter shall become effective on the second day of January 1978, except as otherwise stated herein, and except for the transitional provisions of Article
IX which shall become effective upon certification of the adoption of this Charter.
