§ 63-1 Acceptance of county numbering system.

The Board of Supervisors of the Township adopts the building numbering system set forth on the maps prepared by the York County Planning Commission, as corrected, which said maps are adopted as part of this chapter as the official building numbering system of the Township.

§ 63-2 Assignment of numbers.

Building numbers shall be assigned to future development in the Township in accordance with the building numbering system set forth on the maps prepared by the York County Planning Commission, as corrected, which said maps are adopted as part of this chapter as the official building numbering system of the Township.

§ 63-3 Posting of assigned numbers.

Each property owner shall affix the assigned building number to the main building on each premises and shall affix the assigned building number to the mailbox or mailboxes for the premises in such manner so that the affixed number on the mailbox or mailboxes shall be visible from the street which abuts the mailbox. Each number affixed to the main building on each premises shall be a minimum of four inches in height, with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch, and shall be of a color which contrasts with the background of the building on which it is mounted, so as to be distinguishable from said background.

§ 63-4 Notice of assigned numbers.

Each resident in the Township, as identified on the route lists of the United States Post Office, shall be given written notice of the assigned building number or numbers for that resident's premises. Any nonresident property owner may contact the Township office during regular business hours to determine the assigned building number for that property owner's premises.

§ 63-5 Corrections to numbering system.

Any further technical corrections to the building numbering system set forth on said maps may hereafter be made by resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the Township at any meeting and for good cause shown.

§ 63-6 Posting of sign numbers on entrances and exits of commercial and industrial properties.

Every commercial or industrial property or use in the Township to which a separate number is assigned, shall place the assigned building number next to, above, or on every entrance or exit on the premises in such a manner and size as to be visible to emergency personnel, including, but not limited to, fire, police, emergency medical, or fire police personnel.

§ 63-7 Violations and penalties.

Any person who violates any provisions of this chapter shall commit a criminal offense, and shall, upon being found guilty by a Magisterial District Judge, after hearing, pay a fine not to exceed $1,000, together with all court costs as permitted by law. In default of payment thereof, the defendant may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days. Each day of violation shall constitute a separate offense, which shall be subjection to prosecution as such. For purposes of this section, the Board of Supervisors of East Manchester Township hereby appoints the Township Manager, Secretary, Zoning Officer, Permit Officer or Codes Enforcement Officer as authorized representatives, any one of whom may commence and pursue enforcement proceedings pursuant to this section.
