The probate court, and the judge thereof, shall have all of the powers and duties now or hereafter vested in the probate court and the judge thereof by law. The municipal court, and the judge thereof, shall have all of the powers and duties now or hereafter vested in the municipal court and the judge thereof by the laws of the state and ordinances enacted by the council in conformity therewith.

Constables shall have all of the powers and duties now or hereafter vested in such officers by statute or as may be vested in such officers by ordinances not inconsistent with state law or this charter, and shall receive no compensation from the city, except for fees to which they may be entitled for services in serving process for the city, but shall be entitled to fees charged by them not inconsistent with the statutes of the state.
