It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct
or carry on any traveling or other show, circus, exhibition, theatrical
performance or street parade in connection therewith, theater, show
house, opera house, concert hall, dance hall, pool or billiard parlor,
exhibition ground or any other place of public amusement within the
Village without having first obtained a license for that purpose,
as provided in this article.
Applications for licenses required by this article
shall be made to the Village Clerk upon forms supplied by him for
that purpose, accompanied by the required license fee.
Licenses issued pursuant to this article shall
be issued by the Village Clerk, provided that no license shall be
issued until the application therefor shall have first been referred
to the Board of Commissioners, which may either grant or refuse to
grant any such license, as the public interest may require.
Any license granted pursuant to this article
shall apply only to the building or premises stated in the application
therefor.

The fee for a license issued pursuant to this
article in connection with the operation of a theater, show house,
opera hall or concert hall shall be $175. The fee for a license issued
pursuant to this article for all other places of public amusement
shall be $100.
Fees for licenses granted pursuant to this article after the first day of August in each year shall be 1/2 of the amount provided in §
118-5.
Any license issued pursuant to this article
may, in the discretion of the Board of Commissioners, upon application
therefor, be transferred from the place designated in the original
application to some other place to be approved by the Board of Commissioners.
All licenses issued pursuant to this article
shall terminate on the 31st day of December in each year.
Any license granted under the provisions of
this article may be revoked by the Board of Commissioners when, in
its judgment, the public good may require, on 10 days' notice to the
holder thereof of a hearing before the Board of Commissioners for
the purpose of revoking the same.
The provisions of this article shall not apply
to any show, exhibition or entertainment held by any charitable or
religious body or any Police or Fire Department organization.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be punishable, upon conviction, as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II, General Penalty.
