Under the provisions of MGL c. 40, § 8B
there is hereby established a Council on Aging for the purpose of
coordinating or carrying out programs designed to meet the problems
of the aging in coordination with programs of the Department of Elder
Affairs established under MGL c. 19A.
The Council on Aging shall consist of 11 members
to be appointed by the Mayor for a period of three years. At least
three of the 11 members appointed shall have attained the age of 60
years.
The names, addresses, telephone numbers, or other identifying
information about elderly persons in the possession of the Council
on Aging shall not be public records, but the use of these records
shall comply with MGL c. 19A, §§ 14 to 24, inclusive,
as a condition of receiving a government contract, program grant or
other benefit, or as otherwise required by law.
