Any transient vendor, hawker, or peddler, as
defined by MGL c. 101, must obtain a permit from the Amesbury Municipal
Council before conducting business on property owned or otherwise
controlled by the Town of Amesbury. The time period of the event will
be determined by the Municipal Council.
The fee for the permit will be $50 for each
event the transient vendor, hawker or peddler attends. The Municipal
Council may waive the fee for recognized nonprofit organizations.
The number of permits for an event may be limited
if it is in the public interest to do so.
The transient vendor, hawker or peddler must
display the permit when he is conducting business. No business may
be conducted without the permit.
This chapter may be enforced by the Amesbury
Police Department or other appointed representatives of the Municipal
Council or Mayor.
The Mayor, with the approval of the Municipal
Council, may use funds collected from the fees to cover the costs
incurred by events.
