The Mayor shall be elected at large by the voters
of the municipality, as provided by statute.
All of the administrative functions, powers
and duties of the Township shall be allocated and assigned by the
Mayor, among and within the departments established and constituted
by the code or any amendments and supplements thereto. The Mayor may
delegate to other officers of the Township such functions, powers
and duties as he may deem appropriate and which are permitted by law,
except for the duties required by the Charter or by law to be performed
by the Mayor.
The President of the Council shall serve in
place of the Mayor in the event of the absence of the Mayor or his
disability or refusal to act, as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:69A-120.
When serving as Acting Mayor, the President of Council shall have
all of the rights, powers and duties of the Mayor, as set forth in
the Charter.
