Water and water rates — See Ch. 81.
Any water-cooled refrigeration equipment or air-conditioning equipment installed within the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, which said equipment is operated and serviced by water provided by the Water Department of the said Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus after the effective date of this chapter, shall be provided with such equipment as shall make it possible to continue to use the water in said system in a recirculating manner.
No water-cooled refrigeration equipment or air-conditioning equipment shall be installed after the effective date of this chapter using a water-circulating system in connection therewith which does not have a recirculating system as provided in the preceding section.
No water-cooled refrigeration equipment or air-conditioning equipment shall be installed after the effective date of this chapter until complete plans and specifications therefor have been approved by the Mayor and Council, and no such plans shall be approved unless provision is made as provided for above to prevent the wasteful use of water.
Any person, firm or corporation using water-cooled refrigeration equipment or air-conditioning equipment using water shall immediately cease using the same during any period of water shortage upon receipt of notice from the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus that such an emergency exists affecting the public welfare and shall not resume the operation of said equipment until after notice is given that such water shortage emergency no longer exists.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the terms of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to pay a fine not exceeding $200, the amount of such fine to be in the discretion of the Magistrate before whom the matter shall be heard, and each day that a violation continues shall be considered a separate offense for which a separate penalty may be imposed.
This chapter shall take effect when passed and published as required by law.
